Hiking through a mountain range, over rough ground, rocky outcrops,

slippery surfaces, steep inclines and unknown terrain.

Navigating the way through a dense forest of trees, limited light, limited vision,

unknown and untroaden paths.

Wandering through open fields, clear view forward, long grass tickling your skin,

surrounded by space, wildflowers and the occasional prickle.

Creating a new way through a wide broad view.

No matter what the journey may be.

The way forward always begins the same, with one step.

These are the words that have been whispered to my heart all year.

When I felt overwhelmed .... one step.

When I felt scared .... one step.

When I wanted to give up .... one step.

When I felt hurt .... one step.

When I wanted to hide away .... one step.

One step is about being brave, being bold, being honest.

It is about facing forward and moving just a tiny bit.

It is about looking back on how far you’ve come with all those ‘one steps’.

One step is about seeing a dream and although excitedly terrified,

taking just one step toward it.

Not looking to the top of the mountain but just the step in front of you.

The best part about ‘One Step’ is that all of a sudden you realise you have reached

a new space, found some new gold and reached a new height.

So friends, when the journey gets hard, scary, unknown or painful,

let’s purpose in our hearts to not look to far, not think to fast

BUT instead focus on just ONE STEP.

With Joy
